Krista Vernoff (born October 24, 1971) is an American television screenwriter, executive producer and director. She is best known for being the showrunner for Grey's Anatomy (2007–11, 2017–2023) and its spin-off, Station 19 (2019–2023).

Vernoff was head writer and executive producer of “Grey’s Anatomy” for the first seven seasons of the show and returned as showrunner in season 14. She most recently created and served as showrunner for the ABC series “Rebel,” which was inspired by the life of Erin Brockovich and starred Katey Sagal.
