Sir Henry Rider Haggard KBE (Bradenham, 22 de junho de 1856 – Marylebone em 14 de maio de 1925) foi um escritor britânico, filho de William Meybohm Rider Haggard e Ella Doveton, que escreveu obras como As Minas do Rei Salomão, entre outras, geralmente protagonizadas por exploradores ingleses que viajavam para a África.
H. Rider Haggard was an English writer of adventure fiction romances set in exotic locations, especially Africa, and a pioneer of the lost world genre. He was also involved in land reform throughout the British Empire and had a long and influential career as a novelist.

King Solomon's Mines is an 1885 popular novel [1] by the English Victorian adventure writer and fabulist Sir H. Rider Haggard. It tells of an expedition through an unexplored region of Africa by a group of adventurers led by Allan Quatermain, searching for the missing brother of one of the party.

Sir Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925) nasceu em Bradenham, condado de Norfolk, Inglaterra, oitavo entre dez irmãos. Ao contrário deles, foi enviado para uma escola pública para concluir os seus estudos, porque o pai o via como alguém que «não ia chegar a parte alguma» e achava não ter meios para continuar a pagar-lhe uma educação privada.
