Israel Meir Kirzner (also Yisroel Mayer Kirzner / ˈ k ɜːr z n ər /; born February 13, 1930) is a British-born American economist, historian, rabbi, and Talmudist closely identified with the Austrian School.

1930- Israel Kirzner is a prominent member of the Austrian School of economics. His major contribution is his work on the meaning and importance of entrepreneurship. Kirzner’s view is that mainstream neo-classical economics omits the role of the entrepreneur.

Dr. Israel Kirzner is Professor Emeritus of Economics, New York University. In 2006, Dr. Kirzner received the FSF-Nutek Award for his contribution to the understanding of entrepreneurship and small firms as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics.
The American Israel Kirzner studied in New York under Ludwig von Mises and is one of the most relevant contemporary contributors to modern Austrian Economics. He is emeritus professor of economics at New York University.
