Sebastiano Ricci (1 August 1659 – 15 May 1734) was an Italian painter of the late Baroque school of Venice. About the same age as Piazzetta, and an elder contemporary of Tiepolo, he represents a late version of the vigorous and luminous Cortonesque style of grand manner fresco painting.

Sebastiano Ricci ( Belluno, 1 de agosto de 1659 - Veneza, 15 de maio de 1734) foi um pintor da Itália, integrante da Escola de Veneza . Era filho de Andreana e Livio Ricci, e aprendeu seu ofício com Federico Cerebri (alguns autores dizem que foi com Sebastiano Mazzoni ).

Sebastiano Ricci. Ricci was born in Belluno and moved to Venice at the age of fourteen to become a pupil of Federico Cervelli. He left Venice for Bologna for personal reasons and entered the studio of Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole then worked with Carlo Cignani.

Considerato una delle figure principali della rinascita della Pittura Veneta del 1700, ha imparato a dipingere studiando i lavori di Paolo Veronese e di altri pittori italiani del 1500 che erano i suoi veri maestri, influenzando a sua volta i pittori della nuova generazione, come Giambattista Tiepolo.
