Otto Freundlich (10 July 1878 – 9 March 1943) was a German painter and sculptor of Jewish origin. A part of the first generation of abstract painters in Western art, Freundlich was a great admirer of cubism. He was murdered at Majdanek concentration camp during the Holocaust.
Otto Freundlich war ein deutscher Maler und Bildhauer sowie Autor kunsttheoretisch-philosophischer Schriften. Freundlich war einer der ersten Vertreter der abstrakten Kunst. Er lebte ab 1908 mit einer Unterbrechung in Frankreich und wurde nach einer Denunziation als Jude 1943 in ein Vernichtungslager deportiert und dort ermordet.

Otto Freundlich (1878-1943) was one of the first generation of abstract artists and a member of the November Group and Abstraction-Création. He was persecuted by the Nazis and killed in a concentration camp, but his works are still displayed at Wikiart.org.
