  1. Isaac Robert Cruikshank, sometimes known as Robert Cruikshank (27 September 1789 – 13 March 1856), was a caricaturist, illustrator and portrait miniaturist, the less well-known brother of George Cruikshank, both sons of Isaac Cruikshank.

His ‘Random Shots’ were priced at 3 pence (roughly 85p today). The first recorded case of cholera in England occurred in Sunderland, 23 October 1831.

  4. On display in the exhibition Cats on the Page at the British Library is the pamphlet The Pretty, playful, tortoise-shell cat published in 1817. The illustrator is probably the caricaturist and portrait painter Isaac Robert Cruikshank, often known professionally as just Robert Cruikshank.

  5. 1 de dez. de 2010 · Robert Cruikshank (1789–1856) was born in London and after a brief commission in the East India Company he returned to the capital where he became a book illustrator and cartoonist. Although not as successful an artist as his father Isaac or his brother George, with whom he often collaborated, he was equally adept at ridiculing topical events.
