Andries Bonger (20 May 1861 – 20 January 1936) was a Dutch art collector, as well as Johanna van Gogh-Bonger's brother and Theo van Gogh's friend, who later became his brother-in-law.

30 de mar. de 2022 · Between 1894 and 1908, Andries Bonger (1861–1936) amassed an impressive collection of artworks by Redon: dark charcoal drawings, but also colourful pastels, paintings and wall decorations. With these works, he transformed his house in Amsterdam into a veritable Parisian palace.
Andries Bonger (1861-1936) was an art collector and a good friend of the brothers Theo and Vincent van Gogh. He collected artworks by, among others, Odilon Redon and Émile Bernard. Discover more about his collection.
Andries Bonger, brother of Jo, met Theo van Gogh in a Dutch expatriates club in Paris in 1881. They became close friends and eventually shared lodgings together in Paris. It was through Andries that Theo met his future wife, Jo. Andries remained good friends with Theo until his Theo's death in 1891.
