André Utter (20 March 1886 – 7 February 1948) was a French painter. He was born in the 18th arrondissement of Paris to parents of Alsatian origin. He is best known for having been the second husband and manager of French painter Suzanne Valadon and the step-father of her son, Maurice Utrillo .

André Utter est le fils d'un ferblantier et d'une femme de chambre venus tous deux du Bas-Rhin, mariés à Paris en 1879. André Utter est blond aux yeux bleus " beau comme un dieu " dit Heuzé qui se souvient qu'après son certificat d'étude il commença à écrire des petites choses non dénuées d'intérêt, et entraîna un petit groupe à peindre avec lui.
