Jan Boeckhorst was born in Münster in 1604. He became a canon in the Jesuit church when he was seventeen and apparently did not turn to painting until he was twenty-two years of age. 9 de abr. de 2024 · Born in Germany, around 1626 Jan Boeckhorst moved to Antwerp, where he worked in the workshops of Jacob Jordaens and Peter Paul Rubens. Only six pictures are definitely known to be his, but he probably painted many figure groups within paintings attributed to the Rubens school.
