1 de abr. de 2024 · Dorothy Parker, American short-story writer, poet, screenwriter, and critic known for her witty, and often acerbic, remarks. She was one of the founders of the Algonquin Round Table, an informal literary group. Her notable works included the short story ‘Big Blonde,’ and she cowrote the film A Star Is Born.
In 1926, Parker published her first book of poetry, Enough Rope, which became a bestseller. Her other collections include Sunset Gun (1928) and Death and Taxes (1931). Parker’s poetry is marked by cleverness but also by the deep depression that plagued her.
