Wole Soyinka (Abeocutá, 13 de julho de 1934) é um dramaturgo, romancista, poeta e ensaísta nigeriano em língua inglesa. Recebeu o Prêmio Nobel da Literatura de 1986, por "numa ampla perspectiva cultural e com tons poéticos que moldam o drama da existência". [1] Soyinka nasceu numa família iorubá em Abeocutá. [2]

Biographical. Wole Soyinka was born on 13 July 1934 at Abeokuta, near Ibadan in western Nigeria. After preparatory university studies in 1954 at Government College in Ibadan, he continued at the University of Leeds, where, later, in 1973, he took his doctorate.
