Donald Olding Hebb, nascido em Chester (Nova Escócia, Canadá) em 1904 e morreu no mesmo lugar aos 81 anos, era um neuropsicólogo interessado em escrever romances, que acabaram trabalhando especialmente no campo da psicobiologia. De fato, ele é considerado o fundador dessa disciplina.
