Stephen Alvin Resnick ( / ˈrɛznɪk /; October 24, 1938 – January 2, 2013) was an American Marxist economist. [2] He was well known for his work (much of it written together with Richard D. Wolff) on Marxian economics, economic methodology, and class analysis.
This essay argues that Stephen Resnick and Richard Wolff have conflated two distinct definitions of ‘‘overdetermination.’’ In the first, overdetermination describes a worldview wherein all entities and processes (including ‘‘theory’’) are constituted by all other processes.
