Filósofo francês, Nicolas Malebranche nasceu em 1638, em Paris, e faleceu em 1715. Estudou Filosofia no colégio De la Marche e Teologia na Sorbonne, em Paris. Entrou ainda jovem na Congregação do Oratório, em 1660, e foi ordenado padre em 1664.
French Cartesian philosopher. Malebranche was born in Paris and educated in philosophy and theology at the Sorbonne. Deeply impressed by the philosophy of Descartes, he produced in 1674 and 1675 the two volumes of De la recherche de la vérité (‘On the Search for Truth’).
