Sholom Dovber Schneersohn (Hebrew: שלום דובער שניאורסאהן) was the fifth rebbe (spiritual leader) of the Chabad -Lubavitch chasidic movement. He is known as " the Rebbe Rashab " (for R eb Sh olom B er). His teachings that encouraged outreach were further developed later.

The fifth rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch, Rabbi Sholom DovBer Schneersohn, known by the acronym “ Rashab ,” was born in the town of Lubavitch, in White Russia, on the 20th of the Jewish month of Cheshvan in 1860 (5621 since creation).
Rabbi Shalom Dovber was the son of Rabbi Shmuel and the father of the sixth Lubavitcher Rabbi, Rabbi Joseph I. Schneersohn. His name is Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn. He was the fifth generation, in direct line of succession from Rabbi Schneur Zalman, author of the famous work Tanya and others, the founder of Chabad Chassidism.
