Field Marshal Herbert Charles Onslow Plumer, 1st Viscount Plumer, GCB, GCMG, GCVO, GBE, KStJ (13 March 1857 – 16 July 1932) was a senior British Army officer of the First World War.
Field Marshal Herbert Plumer is generally regarded as one of the finest army commanders serving in France during the First World War. He joined the Army in 1876, serving in Sudan and South Africa before becoming quartermaster general of the new Army Council.
