Edward Richard Montagu, Viscount Hinchingbrooke (7 July 1692 – 3 October 1722) was a British Army officer and politician who sat in the House of Commons from 1713 to 1722. Hinchingbrooke was the eldest son of Edward Montagu, 3rd Earl of Sandwich and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of the Earl of Rochester.

5 de abr. de 2024 · Edward Montagu, 1st Earl of Sandwich was an English admiral who brought Charles II to England at the Restoration in 1660 and who subsequently fought in the Second and Third Dutch Wars. The son of Sir Sydney Montagu, he raised a regiment for Parliament after the outbreak of the Civil War and fought.
Biography. Hinchingbrooke’s minority was dominated by his father’s mental incapacity, which allowed his uncle, Hon. Sidney Wortley Montagu*, to keep him under some restraint at Wortley in Yorkshire, and to control the family estates which had been mortgaged to him.
Edward George Henry Montagu, 8th Earl of Sandwich KStJ (13 July 1839 – 26 June 1916), styled Viscount Hinchingbrooke until 1884, was a British peer, Conservative politician and author. Montagu was the eldest son of John William Montagu, 7th Earl of Sandwich, and his wife Lady Mary Paget.
