Carter Braxton (September 10, 1736 – October 10, 1797) was a Founding Father of the United States, signer of the Declaration of Independence, merchant, and Virginia planter.

Carter Braxton was a Virginia planter, lawyer, and politician who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. He supported the American cause, but lost his fortune and his estate due to the war and the British attacks.
