  1. George Vere Arundel Monckton-Arundell, 8th Viscount Galway, GCMG, DSO, OBE (24 March 1882 – 27 March 1943) was a British politician. He served as the fifth Governor-General of New Zealand from 1935 to 1941.

  2. George Vere Arundell Monckton-Arundell, GCMG, DSO, OBE, PC, was the only son of George Edmund Milnes Monckton-Arundell, 7th Viscount Galway, and succeeded his father in 1931. He was educated at Eton (1895-1900) and at Christ Church College, Oxford (1900-1904), where he studied modern history.

  3. Viscount Galway ( Irish: Víosa na Gaillimhe) is a title that has been created four times in the Peerage of Ireland. The first creation came in 1628 in favour of Richard Burke, 4th Earl of Clanricarde.
