Earl of Granard is a title in the Peerage of Ireland. It was created in 1684 for Arthur Forbes, 1st Viscount Granard. He was a lieutenant-general in the army and served as Marshal of the Army in Ireland after the Restoration and was later Lord Justice of Ireland.

Lieutenant-Colonel. Years of Service: 1899 - 1908. The Earl He served with the 1st Battalion in the Second Boer War in South Africa from 1899 to 1902. He was promoted to lieutenant in 1901 and promoted to captain in 1905. In 1908 he was appointed Lieutenant-Colonel in the Post Office Rifles.
