Sir David Clive Crosbie Trench GCMG MC DL (Chinese: 戴 麟 趾; 2 June 1915 – 4 December 1988) was a British Army officer and colonial governor who served as the Governor of Hong Kong from April 15, 1964 to October 19, 1971 and was High Commissioner for the Western Pacific.

David Clive Crosbie Trench first came to the Protectorate in 1938 as a Cadet, and served with the BSIP Defence Force during the Second World War (q.v.), for which he received a Military Cross. He was in charge of Malaita for several months in 1944, and after that was Acting Resident Commissioner.
David Clive Crosbie Trench was born on June 2, 1915. He was educated at Tonbridge School and then at Jesus College, Cambridge, where he received the degree of Master of Arts. Soon after graduation he joined the Colonial Service as a cadet and was posted to the British Solomon Islands Protectorate.
