Petros Mavromichalis (Greek: Πέτρος Μαυρομιχάλης; 1765–1848), also known as Petrobey (Greek: Πετρόμπεης [peˈtrobe.is]), was a Greek general, politician and the leader of the Maniot people (Maniates) during the first half of the 19th century.

Origin. According to the Maniot tradition, confirmed by the May 31, 1870 epitaph of Anastasios-Petros Mavromichalis (which may be found in the Metropolis of Athens ), the first members of the clan were refugees from the community of Kardias in Eastern Thrace who escaped Turkish attacks in 1452 and resettled in Western Mani .
