Charles Churchill was born in Westminster in February 1732, the son of a clergyman. He was educated at Westminster School (1741-48) and was subsequently admitted to St. John's College, Cambridge, but married clandestinely before he took up residence.
Charles Churchill was born in Westminster, then a suburb of in I73I, and died at Boulogne, France, in I764. At the time of his he was a few months under thirty-four years of age, and was the. famous English poet of his time, in England and abroad. He dained a deacon in I754 and a priest in I756.
