Colonel Robert Carter I (c. 1664 – 4 August 1732) was a planter, merchant, and government official and administrator who served as Acting Governor of Virginia, Speaker of the Virginia House of Burgesses, and President of the Virginia Governor’s Council.
Robert Carter I was a Virginia colonist. Ancestor of William Henry Harrison 9th US President. Robert Carter "King Carter" [1] --was for a long time the agent and representative of the Culpepper and Fairfax families. [2]
