Krog began singing jazz as a teenager and attracted attention while performing in jam sessions in Oslo. In 1955, she was hired by the pianist Kjell Karlsen to sing in his sextet. In 1962, she started her first band, and that same year she became a student of the Norwegian-American singer Anne Brown. Krog studied with Brown until 1969.
Karin Krog is a Norwegian vocalist, widely recognized as one of Norway’s leading jazz singers. She has also set lyrics to several compositions, as well as composed her own songs.

Meantime Records is Karin Krog’s privately owned independent record label. Most of her latest recordings are released on this label. She has also reissued many of the older recordings as CDs on this label.
