popularized in 1979 movie Apocalypse Now. Play on the term “terminate with prejudice” when an employee’s employment is terminated, meaning “will not rehire employee to same position in future”… hence “terminate definitively, i.e., kill”. It means to kill/destroy the target with extreme force.
With “Extreme Prejudice,” Hill got to stop dancing around the idea of doing a hard boiled Western, and at last got to put pen on paper - or rather, a bullet in the six shooter. Hill’s career is populated by entries that are Western in spirit, but not in setting.
Nick Nolte plays tough no-nonsense Texas ranger Jack Benteen, whose childhood friend Cash (Powers Boothe) is now a ruthless drugs baron on the other side of the border. Jack finds himself recruited by the CIA to eliminate Cash, who allegedly has secret government documents.
