Sinopse. O filme começa quando Ebenezer Scrooge ( Jim Carrey) assina a certidão de óbito de seu sócio, Jacob Marley, no dia de Natal. Recusando-se a pagar mais para os trabalhadores, e revelando ser um homem muito mesquinho, Scrooge retorna ao trabalho de contador. Sete anos depois, Scrooge trabalha, ainda ao lado do humilde e alegre Bob Cratchit.
