This is the official resource for Three Approaches to Psychotherapy, Series I, II, and III – more popularly known as The “Gloria” Films of 1965, The “Kathy” Films of 1977, and The “Frank” Films of 1986. These pioneering films in the field of psychotherapy were produced by Everett L. Shostrom for Psychological and Educational Films.

Along with pulling back the curtain on then modern-day “talk therapy,” Dr. Shostrom used this film, as the title conveys, to explore three different theories/methodologies of therapeutic practices.
With Carl Rogers, Fritz Perls, Gloria Szymanski, Albert Ellis. An actual patient, Gloria Szymanski, allowed herself to be filmed while engaged in therapy with three different therapists, distinguished by their different orientations but sharing their therapeutic endeavors.

A film series such as this, in which three therapists – distinguished by their different orientations – share their therapeutic endeavors, had never been made before.
