Mel Gibson stars with Sam Neill and John Phillip Law in the true story of Z Special Force, WWII's top-secret Pacific commando unit. When an American fighter jet crashes on an island held by the Japanese, a five-man Z Force assault team launches a mission of courage, carnage and desperate jungle warfare to rescue the survivors.
A very young Mel Gibson and Sam Neill lead a group of Australian commandos to the site of a plane crash in the South Pacific during World War II where they work with the Chinese and fend off the Japanese to either save or eliminate the passenger inside the wreckage.
