Sinopse. Na São Francisco do início do século, mulher choca a sociedade ao viver caso extra-conjugal. Desta vez Garbo era Arden Stuart, a mulher que leva seu chofer para dar um passeio de carro à noite. Ela foge da festa chatíssima que acontece naquela casa e de repente o espectador se encontra diante de uma Garbo apaixonada por seu motorista.

Romantic Drama. Synopsis. In the Roaring Twenties, the double standard is alive and well: wives stay home playing bridge, husbands party with flappers and then lie about where they've been. Arden Stuart wants something else: freedom, equality, and honesty in love.
This Garbo film, based on a novel by pioneering female journalist Adela Rogers St. Johns, raises the right questions and is feminist insofar as it’s sympathetic to women who want to explore their sexuality as freely as men, but it settles for melodrama instead of realism.
