"The story is about a mysterious phone call which changes the life of an introvert Karthik Narayan (Farhan Akhtar) from being a 'nobody', to a famous successful man having the most beautiful girl, Shonali Mukherjee (Deepika Padukone) as his girlfriend, but with a price.
Synopsis. Born in Delhi, but now living in Mumbai, Karthik Narayan (Farhan Akhtar) is a much abused employee with ACL Construction, secretly in love with leggy Architect, Shonali Mukherjee (Deepika Padukone), who has been going steady with yet another co-worker, Ashish.
