    From 2007 to 2018, Moorer served as a federal magistrate judge on the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.

    Moorer earned his associate degree from Marion Military Institute in 1981, his bachelor's degree from Huntingdon College in 1983, and his J.D.from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1986.

    Moorer served as a military lawyer and judge for the Alabama National Guard. He was deployed to Iraq and to Kuwait as a command judge advocate.
