Eleanor Louise Ross (née Barnwell; born December 8, 1967) is a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and former judge of the DeKalb County State Court. Biography. Ross received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1989, from American University.
Eleanor L. Ross is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Prior to joining the federal court, she was a judge on the DeKalb County State Court in Georgia. She was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal on April 8, 2011, and took her oath of office on April 29, 2011.

The student-organized event, which began in 2018, celebrates the integration of the federal judiciary by honoring a distinguished African American federal jurist. Judge Ross is the first African American woman to serve on the Northern District of Georgia.
