James Burr V. Allred (March 29, 1899 – September 24, 1959) was the 33rd governor of Texas. He later served, twice, as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

In that office Allred earned a reputation as "the fighting district attorney" for his forthright opposition to the Ku Klux Klan.

James V Allred. James Burr V Allred (V was a middle name, not an initial) was born in Bowie in 1899. He served in the Navy during World War I, then became a lawyer and practiced in Wichita Falls.
