Gustav Theodore Holst (nascido Gustavus Theodore von Holst: Cheltenham 21 de Setembro de 1874 – Londres, 25 de Maio de 1934) foi um compositor inglês, arranjador e professor. Gustav Theodore Holst (born Gustavus Theodore von Holst; 21 September 1874 – 25 May 1934) was an English composer, arranger and teacher. Best known for his orchestral suite The Planets , he composed many other works across a range of genres, although none achieved comparable success.
Gustav Holst was an English composer and music teacher noted for the excellence of his orchestration. His music combines an international flavour based on the styles of Maurice Ravel, Igor Stravinsky, and others with a continuation of English Romanticism.

The Planets, Op. 32, is a seven-movement orchestral suite by the English composer Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1917. In the last movement the orchestra is joined by a wordless female chorus. Each movement of the suite is named after a planet of the Solar System and its supposed astrological character.
