The Millennium Bridge, officially known as the London Millennium Footbridge, is a steel suspension bridge for pedestrians crossing the River Thames in London, England, linking Bankside with the City of London. It is owned and maintained by Bridge House Estates, a charitable trust overseen by the City of London Corporation.
A Ponte do Milénio (português europeu) ou Milênio (português brasileiro) [1] [2] [3] [4] (em inglês: Millennium Bridge é uma ponte suspensa pedonal fabricada em aço, localizada na cidade de Londres, na Inglaterra. Foi inaugurada em 2000. Cruza o Rio Tâmisa, unindo a zona de Bankside com a City de Londres.
A "Millennium Bridge" é uma ponte na qual só pedestres transitam. Na verdade, seu visual futurista destoa de tudo o que tem ao seu redor, apesar de já ter entrado no gosto popular, assim como a "London Eye". Ela liga as margens do Rio Tâmisa, tendo de um lado a "Saint Paul Cathedral" e do outro o "Tate Modern Musuem".

The bridge is a very shallow suspension bridge, with highly tensioned cables, sinking 2.3m on the central span of 144m, with a ratio of 63: 1, six times shallower than that of a conventional suspension bridge.
