Lasse Artturi Virén (Myrskylä, 22 de Julho de 1949) é um antigo atleta finlandês vencedor de quatro medalhas de ouro olímpicas. [1] Virén retomou a imagem dos "Finlandeses Voadores" promovida por atletas como Hannes Kolehmainen, Paavo Nurmi ou Ville Ritola na década de 1920.
Lasse Virén is a Finnish former long-distance runner, who won four gold medals at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics in 5000 and 10,000 metres. He also set world records in both events and became a politician in Finland.
