Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson (February 18, 1940 – May 22, 2015) was an American artist who represented Black history through art. [1] [2] Early life and education. Robinson was born on February 18, 1940, to Leroy Edward Robinson and Helen Elizabeth Zimmerman-Robinson in Columbus, Ohio. [2] .

Amina Robinson is a Philadelphia-based performer who has worked on Broadway, TV, film, and commercials. She also directs and teaches at Temple University and has won a Barrymore Award for The Color Purple.
Aminah Robinson is now esteemed as a vital contributor to American art. Her work is actively collected and is represented in the Columbus Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum, the Newark Museum, among others. In 2002, Robinson was awarded an honorary Doctorate from Ohio Dominion University.
