Jim Backus (1913-1989) was a versatile performer who appeared in radio, Broadway, movies, television and cartoons. He is best known for his roles as Frank Stark in Rebel Without a Cause, Thurston Howell III in Gilligan's Island, and the voice of Mr. Magoo in animated series and movies.
