Broken Toy Shop is the second album by American singer-songwriter E (a.k.a. Mark Oliver Everett), released in December 1993 by Polydor Records. It was his last record as a solo artist before forming the band Eels.

In 1991, Everett signed a contract with Polydor and released A Man Called E under the name E a year later. The single "Hello Cruel World" was a minor success. Touring to support the album, E opened for Tori Amos. [3] A Man Called E was followed by Broken Toy Shop in 1993.

The singer of (arguably) my favourite band Eels, Mark Oliver Everett, better known as "E" started a couple of years before the first Eels album came out, with a rather generic 90s pop album (A Man Called E), and then released Broken Toy Shop which is the first sign of his songwriting talent.
