But the music was consistently drowned out by gunfire and other noises (it's better with headphones, but only slightly). It's a real pity, because even though Halo 4 doesn't have the best soundtrack of the series, there are some very good tracks in it. (Arrival, 117, To Galaxy)

Though still grounded in the Halo universe, the score for Halo 4 takes a new direction from Martin O'Donnell's composition in previous Halo titles. Orchestral and composition for the score was done at the famed Abbey Road Studios in Westminster, London, England, mostly notably known for their work with The Beatles during the 1960s.
^ Halo 4: The Essential Visual Guide and Halo Waypoint's Universe entry describe the Composer's original function as granting the Forerunners immortality by transferring old essences into youthful bodies, implying that Forerunner medical science had not overcome senescence.
