Princess Basma bint Talal (born 11 May 1951) is the only daughter of King Talal and Queen Zein of Jordan, sister of Hussein of Jordan and paternal aunt to the current king, King Abdullah II.
Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal was born in Amman, Jordan, on May 11, 1951, to His Majesty King Talal bin Abdullah and Her Majesty Queen Zein Al Sharaf.

As Chairperson, Princess Basma worked to develop Jordan’s first National Strategy for Women in 1993. She also headed the official Jordanian delegation to the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995.
During her keynote address at the memorable event, Princess Basma noted that “The Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting Movement unites over 10 million girls and young women from 144 countries in a voluntary commitment.
