Augusta Maria "Mici" Teller (originally Schütz-Harkányi; 30 April 1909 – 4 June 2000) was a Hungarian-American scientist and computer programmer, involved in the development of the Metropolis algorithm.

Augusta “Mici” Teller, born Augusta Maria Harkányi (1909-2000) was a Hungarian-American mathematician and wife of Manhattan Project physicist Edward Teller. In April 1943, Mici joined Edward at Los Alamos where she began to work part-time in the computations division.

"Equation of State Calculations by Fast Computing Machines" is a scholarly article published by Nicholas Metropolis, Arianna W. Rosenbluth, Marshall N. Rosenbluth, Augusta H. Teller, and Edward Teller in the Journal of Chemical Physics in 1953.
A general method, suitable for fast computing machines, for investigating such properties as equations of state for substances consisting of interacting individual molecules is described. The method consists of a modified Monte Carlo integration over configuration space.
The algorithm was born out of a 1953 paper by Nicholas Metropolis, Arianna W. Rosenbluth, Marshall Rosenbluth, Augusta H. Teller, and Edward Teller (two husband-wife pairs), who looked at a special case, and a 1970 paper by W.K. Hastings, who generalized the method.
