Lenormand’s play Le Simoun (1920; “The Simoom”) depicts the demoralizing influence of the life and climate of the tropics on a European man who becomes obsessed with an incestuous passion for his adult daughter. Le Lâche (1925; “The Coward”) is a psychological study of fear in a man about to go to war as a soldier.
