My vision for Jones High School is to create an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and safe so that positive experiences and academic success take place each day! Families, teachers, support staff, community members, and administration all play a major part in helping our students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Jones High School is located in the Parramore /Lorna Doone neighborhood in the urban heart of Orlando, Florida at 801 S. Rio Grande Avenue. It is a public school in the Orange County School District. The school mascot is the Tiger and the colors are orange and green.
In 1912, L.C. Jones became principal of Johnson Academy. Under his leadership, a new school was built in 1921 on the corner of Washington Street and Parramore Avenue. Because his family donated the land for the school, the school was renamed Jones High School.
Jones High School is ranked #13,242-17,655 in the National Rankings. Schools are ranked on their performance on state-required tests, graduation and how well they prepare students for college.
