- Missão e investimentos. A fundação foi criada há mais de 20 anos, quando os Gates ficaram chocados com um artigo de jornal sobre a morte de milhares de crianças na África por doenças evitáveis, como diarreia e pneumonia.
- Combate à pandemia. A luta contra o coronavírus também é uma prioridade: desde fevereiro de 2020, a fundação gastou mais de US$ 1,75 bilhão na luta contra a Covid-19, segundo a organização informou ao jornal The Washington Post.
- Doadores. Principais contribuintes: entre 1994 e 2018, os Gates contribuíram com mais de US$ 36 bilhões para sua fundação, que atualmente tem cerca de US$ 50 bilhões em ativos.
