Guillaume de Montmorency (1453 – 14 May 1531, Chantilly) was Baron de Montmorency and lord of Chantilly. As general of finances for the king, he was governor of several royal castles and accompanied Louis XII during the Italian War of 1494–1498.
The village that grew up in the vicinity of the castle was also known as Montmorency, and is eponymous of the modern commune of Montmorency, Val-d'Oise département, in the immediate neighborhood of Enghien-les-Bains and Saint-Denis, about 15 km (9 mi) northwest of Paris.

Louise de Montmorency (1496–1547) was a French noblewoman from the ancient House of Montmorency. Louise married her first husband, Ferri de Mailly, in 1511, from which issued a daughter, Madeleine de Mailly.
Duke of Montmorency was a title of French nobility that was created several times for members of the Montmorency family, who were lords of Montmorency, near Paris. History. The first creation was in 1551 for Anne de Montmorency, Constable of France. This title was forfeited by the 4th Duke of Montmorency, who was executed for treason in 1632.
