Desmond Walter Guinness (8 September 1931 – 20 August 2020) was an Anglo-Irish author of Georgian art and architecture, a conservationist and the co-founder of the Irish Georgian Society. Desmond Guinness, conservationist and author, was born on September 8, 1931. He died from undisclosed causes on August 20, 2020, aged 88. In July 1957, Desmond Guinness wrote a courteous letter to The Irish Times: “Sir, As the Georgian Society seems to have lapsed, has anyone any objection to my restarting it?”.
