Olsen was born on 23 January 1822 in Frederiksberg, a district of Copenhagen, Denmark. Her parents were Terklid Olsen, councilor of state and department head in the Finance Ministry, and Regine Ferderikke Malling Olsen. Her family home was located in Børsgade, near Knippelsbro. Regine Schlegel, nacida Olsen, (23 de enero de 1822 - 18 de marzo de 1904), fue una mujer danesa recordada por haber estado comprometida con el filósofo y teólogo Søren Kierkegaard del 8 de septiembre de 1840 al 11 de agosto de 1841.
Regine Olsen foi uma jovem dinamarquesa, mais conhecida por ter sido noiva do filósofo dinamarquês Sören Kierkegaard e ter tido uma influência considerável na obra filosófica e teológica deste.
Nessa época, Kierkegaard decidiu pedir a Regine Olsen, que ele conhecia há vários anos, em casamento. Após um noivado de dois anos, Kierkegaard sentiu que havia um “protesto divino” porque o casamento foi baseado em algo falso (ele nunca disse o quê), e em 1841 ele escreveu uma carta para Regine encerrando o noivado.
