George Jones (1811 – 1891) foi um editor e jornalista estadunidense, além de co-fundador do New-York Daily Times, a atual The New York Times Company. Antes de ingressar na carreira de comunicação, Jones foi também banqueiro na cidade de Albany, Nova Iorque. Sepultado no Cemitério de Sleepy Hollow.
George Jones (August 16, 1811 – August 12, 1891) was an American journalist who, with Henry Jarvis Raymond, co-founded the New-York Daily Times, now The New York Times.
Between 1841 and 1851, Raymond worked for various newspapers, including Horace Greeley's New York Tribune and James Watson Webb's Courier and Enquirer as a journalist and associate editor. He had known George Jones since their time at the Tribune and the two often discussed
George Jones was the first publisher of the New York Times. He founded the New-York Daily Times in 1851 with Henry J. Raymond and Edward B. Wesley. In 1841, Jones met Raymond while the two were working for Horace Greeley at the New York Tribune.
